The main goal of the Foundation is preservation and education of people about Jan and Antonina Zabinski activities during the WWII in Poland and worldwide while focusing on restoration of the Villa into a world class museum and building an additional pavilion which will serve as an educational center and where the works of the artists and scientists who were hiding in the Villa will be presented.
We would like to preserve the Villa and the Zabinski Museum on the Zoo grounds as a memorial about those cruel times and persecuted people, who found there shelter, about people who saved them while risking their lives and about the animals inextricably linked with this place. So that the Villa and the Zabinski Muzeum become a pantheon to the extraordinary human courage and rebellion against the war.
Other Foundation’s goals include a campaign to change the name of the Warsaw Zoo into “The Warsaw Zoological Garden named Jan and Antonina Zabinski”. The Foundation intends to support and partner with other organizations active in the humanitarian field in Poland and abroad, including an eventual establishment of a Jan and Antonina Żabiński award for humanitarian achievements.
