ZABINSKI FOUNDATION FOR UKRAINE

THE ZABINSKI FAMILY LEGACY LIVES ON!

ZABINSKI FOUNDATION IN COOPERATION WITH WARSAW ZOO AND PANDA FOUNDATION IS DELIVERING HUMANITARIAN AID FOR WORKERS OF ZOO GARDENS IN UKRAINE

Friday March 11, 2022 Zabinski Foundation in cooperation with Warsaw Zoo and with Panda Foundation delivered humanitarian aid products for the families of workers in Zoo gardens in Ukraine.

Zabinski Foundation in the spirit of Jan and Antonina Zabinski brings help for the needy people during this extremely difficult war taking place in Ukraine, and delivers humanitarian aid to the needy people through joint action of transport of food for the animals in the Ukrainian Zoo gardens organized by the Warsaw Zoo and the Panda Foundation.

Zabinski Foundation delivered products including personal hygiene products, towels, bed sheets and diapers.

Friday’s action started an operation of humanitarian aid for the needy families and mothers with children which is currently conducted by the Zabinski Foundation, and for which Foundation is collecting donations.

This action is a realization of a statutory goal of the Zabinski Foundation – bringing humanitarian help for the needy, and it is an expression of Jan and Antonina Zabinski legacy.

Zabinski Foundation’s main goals are protection and spreading of Jan and Antonina Zabinski’s legacy, who during WWII saved approximately 300 people, mostly Jewish, while smuggling them and hiding them in their Villa and in the empty animal cages in the Warsaw Zoo. Their heroic activities were performed while risking their own and their 2 children’s lives.

“I am very moved by the fact that the Zabinski Foundation and I can help, thus as my grandfather and grandmother helped during WWII, in today’s terrible times when already more than 1.5 million refugees fled from Ukraine to Poland, in many cases after harrowing experiences and parting with family members who stayed in Ukraine in order to fight. People who ask how we can support your effort we answer: please transfer your donations according to instructions detailed on our website www.zabinskifoundation.com” said Dominik Zawadzki-Zabinski, founder and vice-president of the Zabinski Foundation.

Zabinski Foundation was established in April 2020 by two members of the Zabinski family: Teresa Zawadzki-Zabinski (daughter of Jan and Antonina Zabinski) and Dominik Zawadzki – Zabinski (grand-son of Jan and Antonina Zabinski), and by two main contributors to the Foundation: Richard Hallward and David Dixon, partner in the Dentons law firm, which provides its services pro-bono to the Foundation. The CEO of the Foundation is Anat Arazi, an experienced high-level senior executive. Dominik Zawadzki – Zabinski in addition to being a founder is also the Vice-President of the Zabinski Foundation.

Zabinski Foundation is sponsoring and financing music lessons of an 13-years old talented prodigy girl - Daria Karpenko, who ran away from Ukraine together with her mother. They arrived to Warsaw on March 18 and met with her grandmother who was already in Poland. Her father stayed in Ukraine as a soldier recruited to the Ukrainian army serving near Kiyv, where they were living.

The girl received many awards for her piano play, including first prize won in the international concourse called “Talents’ Holiday”.

Zabinski Foundation supports and finances the girl’s lessons in a private music school in order to allow her talent to continue to develop.

Please donate to enable the Foundation to support such efforts. Please look above through what channel you can contribute: in PLN through zrzutka.pl or bank account in PLN, or in EUR or in USD – through appropriate bank accounts detailed above..
